Looking for Beta Readers

Hey folks, so I've spent the last few days editing Chapter 1 of The Jellybane's rewrite and am now looking for beta readers to give it a look see.

 All I'm aiming for is to get you to read through the chapter and let me know what you think. If you don't like reading, you can also copy and paste the text here to have it read to you. Corrections and writing tips are not required but would be appreciated.

Alice Dippleblack in The Jellybane, Ch1 Finished

I've just finished the first chapter of The Jellybane's rewrite.

In it, we meet our young protagonist, Alice, and learn a bit about how she became a monster hunter.

Alice Dippleblack The Rewrite Begins

I've decided to begin my rewrite of Alice Dippleblack starting with The Jellybane. As my very first novel, I know it isn't great, but think, given the chance, the story and characters are still worth the love. And, after writing six other novels since, I at least like to think I've gotten a little better at the craft.

I'd have, and absolutely still will, appreciate a bit more feedback on it so I have a better idea of what to keep, what needs to go, and what folks want more of, but I understand everyone is busy and will do my best with what I have.

My goals with the rewrite are to produce the same basic story but, hopefully, with better writing. I also plan reduce the number of actual books in the series by maybe putting two books together, so the first will be The Jellybane and On The Run. We'll see how that goes.

As for Betwix, I'll have to leave that on the back burner for a little bit. I know so many will be devastated (sarcasm).

I plan to do as I have been, giving early access to supporters as I work. Feedback will be great and gives you the chance to be part of the adventure!

 

Betwix Chapter 6 'Hunt' is Done!

 

Chapter 6 is finished!

There are no free meals in Betwix and Alex must prove her worth to her furry companions if she plans to remains with them. Owing them her life already, she, despite her fears and untested abilities, heads out with the duo to face the bumba, giant bees, that have taken up residence in the forest around the tiny village of Ferst.

Betwix Chapter 6 Progress

Three full pages done in Chapter 6. 

             In it, Talah and Nebble show Alex the finer points of how to hunt the dangerous bumba that have infested Sheil Wood. Still new to this strange world, will Alex be able to prove her worth on the hunt? Become a patron to find out before anyone else!

As Nebble and Talah take Alex on her first bumba hunt, Alex tries to figure out her strange new power. And with the, not entirely welcome, help of her Lobovaugh companion, she might just have something.

Also, I'm planning to pack free copies of The Jellybane along with my prop orders in an effort to get the book before more eyes. Don't know if it will amount to anything, but I still have some lingering dregs of hope stuck to the sides of my hope jar.

The Jellybane is the first in the six book series. Alice Dippleblack is a fantasy adventure story that follows three young orphans in their struggle to outlast a war that has torn their world in two.
